Land transferred to Fullarton Community Association paving the way to regeneration

Fullarton Community Association were handed the symbolic key to take ownership of an area of land in Fullarton, Irvine which will be the site of a new community hub to serve the residents with a range of services aimed at improving health & wellbeing. Following a feasibility study carried out by STAR on behalf of the association, and the initial designs for the new building by Moray Royles of City Architecture Office, North Ayrshire Council formally transferred ownership of the land to the Association, in the first asset transfer deal for the local authority. Fullarton is an area of very high multiple deprivation with a population of around 3,000. It has now been identified by North Ayrshire Council as a priority for support, and STAR are working with local groups and a range of partners to develop a 5 year Community Action Plan which will assist in securing funding for the new build community hub.
